The 1983 All-Star Game was held on Wednesday, July 6, 1983. The American League won the fifty-fourth midsummer classic by a score of 13 to 3. The game was held at Comiskey Park in Chicago, IL in front of 43,801 fans. The MVP was Fred Lynn of the Angels.
Carl Yastrzemski and Johnny Bench were added to their respective teams at the request of Commissioner Bowie Kuhn, as both future Hall of Famers had announced that they would retire at the end of the season.
